I Want Candy

I just love this photo of my daughter - it is the true epitome of her! This photo was just taken yesterday. My MIL, Jordan and I went to Cracker Barrel for lunch, and Jordan spotted these HUGE lollipops. I tried to persuade her to get a small pop or something different, but she just wouldn't hear it! She couldn't wait to get home and open it! I think she took about four licks, and handed it to me and said "I'm done!" Of course she had sticky sweet stuff all over her face! The sucker was originally orange, but I recolored it to better match the papers - ahhh, the beauty of digital! This is a scralift of one of Nicole Durtschi's layouts. I used my new Shades of Love items, which are being given away free as a special offer over at my store.

By, the way, she has yet to ask for that lolly back!

Looking for a Creative Team

Well, now that I have officially opened my own store, Your-Digital-Dream.com, I am finding that I have less and less time to actually create and post layouts showcasing my new sets. Therefore, after careful consideration, I have decided to start up a Creative Team. I will take applications until February 1, 2006. At that time I will review all of the applications and try my best to make a decision by Sunday, February 5, 2006. Here are the details:

A few things you need to know:

You must be able to post 4-6 layouts a month
You must post your layouts in at least 3 galleries

If you can seriously commit to the doing these two things, please send an email to jordymacsmom@runbox.com with the following information. All of this information must be included in your email:

A link to your online gallery/ galleries
A little about yourself and your scrapping style
Are you currently on any other Design or Creative Teams?
How long have you been digi-scrapping?
Why do you feel you should be selected for the Creative Team?
How many layouts can you honestly commit to?

Please send all of your info to me in an email, and will carefully review all of the entries. I don't know how many positions I will be filling at this time. A large part of that will depend on the entries that I receive. I look forward to seeing everyone's work! Any applicants that are not selected will be held on record for future positions. Another weekend gone...

Yes, it's true! Another weekend has just flown by. Between the laundry, the dishes, and chasing Jordan, I feel like the weekends are a blur. I've been trying to get some more items uploaded to my new store, and the hosting company must be having some sort of problem, because uploading my sets is taking forever, and then the whole file doesn't transfer, so I have to keep trying until it does! Ughhh...

I am also experiencing a very painful bladder infection - the first one I've ever had! Not fun, but hey - at least my pee looks like TidyBowl! My DD got a kick out of that! For those of you that don't know, there is a medication that is supposed to relieve some of the burning, but it makes your pee turn blue or green. Anyway, that hasn't been much fun.

And right now I am sitting here listening to my DD bang on metal pots with metal spoons as I am typing this. "Listen Mommy, listen!" How can I not listen - it's deafening! LOL!! Oh no - now I have to "make muzgick" too! I did get a few cute pics of her making a little art project yesterday. She loves her glue stick and scissors! Here's the LO I did

Well, it's back to work for me tomorrow, and I think it's going to be pretty busy. I am in serious need of a vacation. Somewhere warm and sunny, no one around - just me and my laptop! Yeah, like that's gonna happen! Oh well, a girl can dream can't she....

Catching Up

Wow, this year has really started off with a lot of changes! First I started my own blog, who woulda thunk it! Now I have also opened my own storefront called Your Digital Dream. I am still in the process of uploading items to the store, but I have already gotten quite a few in there. I will continue as a designer over at Scrapbook-Elements as well, so this year has started off as a busy one!

I got the new DSLR camera for Christmas, but my DD is still rebelling against have her picture made, so I haven't gotten to use it as much as I would like. I guess I'm going to have to resort to bribery, but the child has EVERYTHING, so what am I supposed to bribe her with....

Here is a layout that I did last weekend with some pictures of her avoiding the camera. I thought it was a good way to use those '"less than perfect" shots! She can be so silly somtimes! The child is very photogenic, so it really bugs me that she won't let me photograph her!

OK, since Miss Ella over at 2Peas would like to see previews of my new sets before Friday, so that she can plan her shopping accordingly (LOL), I thought I'd start posting them on my blog. Here's the two new sets that I will have going into the Scrapbook-Elements store this coming Sunday, 1/8/06.

This is my new set called Roxanne. It's jam packed with all sorts of great textured papers and TONS of ribbon and doo-daddy things. Love the little pockets I made for this set!

This is my Frolic set. The colors in the set are very fun and playful - perfect for perking up on those drab Winter days. This set would make some awesome layouts with kids playing in the snow, but since it has no "theme" it could really be used for any type of layout.

A Sale of Sorts

Other happenings in my life are my dread of returning to work tomorrow, knowing that there's not another holiday until Easter! My darling daughter has also started to rebel against all of my photo taking with my new camera! I posted a hilarious layout with her hiding her head in the cushion of the chair. I guess I'll have to start photographing out animal or strangers!

Well, it's offically 2006! Now I have to get used to writing and typing 2006 - see I just typed 2005! Wonder how many checks I'll have to void before I do it right!! Thank goodness for online bill payments!

This adorable little fellow is my nephew! Isn't he just the chubbiest little thing? He is such a happy baby! In this photo, he was examining all of his Christmas loot!

Now, this little diva is mine! I took these photos with my new Kinoca-Minolta Maxxum 5D, and I can't not be happier! The quality of the photos is amazing - so crisp and sharp! I don't have real photography knowledge, so I am having to learn all the lingo to use all of the features on this camera. Auto is great though, and even my DD has taken so pretty good shots with it!

Well, I have decided to see what all of this blogging stuff is about! I don't have much going on in my life right now. I'm glad that Christmas is over, it can be such a stressful time of year, although I do look forward to it each year, and I love decorating for the holidays!

For those of you that don't know me, I am a thirty-something wife and mother. I have a darling and vivacious three and half year old daughter. I work outside the home and also as an independent designer for Scrapbook-Elements.com. I started scrapbooking when my daughter was almost two, and then I discovered digital scrapbooking when it was still in it's infancy. Wow, have things changed in the last year and a half! I have been designing for about 16 months, and I absolutely love it! If I could make it a full-time job and keep the bills paid, I would do it in a heartbeat!

For Christmas I got a Konica-Minolta Maxxum 5D. I have no real photography experience, and I have always been a point and shoot kind of girl. My previous camera was a Sony Cybershot, and I really had no complaints with it, other than the shutter lag. With a three year old, shutter lag means all the difference when you're taking photos! So, I took the leap into the DLSR world, and I bought a couple of photography books. My first photos were of my daughter playing in the bathtub, and I just used to Auto setting. Let me tell you - when I downloaded those photos to my laptop I was astounded by the quality!! They are so sharp and crisp - the the photos are so much larger than with my Sony!

Now my DD is starting to grow a little weary of me and that damned camera! I have literally taken over 100 photos of her 5 days! OH WELL!! I'm sure the "new" will wear off soon! Actually she has even taken some photos with it herself, and for the most part, she gets pretty good results too!
